Rebel Wolves, a Polish studio led by former directors of The Witcher 3, has partnered with Bandai Namco Entertainment, as announced this week. Bandai will serve as the global publisher for Dawnwalker, the studio’s inaugural action RPG saga, slated for release in 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox.

Dawnwalker is a narrative-driven AAA action-RPG set in medieval Europe, infused with dark fantasy themes for mature players. Rebel Wolves plans to share more details about the game in the months ahead. Founded in 2022 in Warsaw, the studio is focused on elevating RPGs with a story-centric approach.

“Rebel Wolves combines seasoned expertise with fresh creativity. Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, with its passion for RPGs and openness to new IPs, is an ideal partner for us,” said Tomasz Tinc, chief publishing officer at Rebel Wolves, in a press release. “Their proven success in narrative-driven RPGs aligns with our vision, and we’re excited to collaborate on delivering the first chapter of the Dawnwalker saga to players worldwide.”

Bandai Namco views Dawnwalker as a valuable addition to its portfolio. Alberto Gonzalez Lorca, VP of business development, noted, “This partnership marks a significant step in our strategy to expand content for Western markets. Together, we’ll bring this debut title to a global audience.”

Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, a CDPR veteran and former lead quest designer on The Witcher 3, joined Rebel Wolves as creative director earlier this year. Dawnwalker, a new franchise crafted by co-founder and narrative director Jakub Szamalek, who spent over nine years as a writer at CDPR, is expected to match the scope of The Witcher 3’s Blood and Wine expansion while offering a more non-linear story.

“Our goal is to create an experience with diverse choices and replayability. Shaping this project with such a talented team is my mission at Rebel Wolves, and I’m eager for players to discover what we’ve been working on,” Tomaszkiewicz said earlier this year.
