Animal Crossing Comes to Mobile with Floatopia

NetEase Games unveiled their captivating new life sim, Floatopia, at Gamescom. Expected to launch on multiple platforms, including Android, sometime in 2025, Floatopia presents a whimsical world of floating islands and unique characters. The trailer depicts a charming environment where players can farm, fish, and customize their airborne island home.

A Cute Apocalypse

The game's premise begins with a world-ending event, but fear not! This apocalypse is more akin to "My Time At Portia" than "Fallout." The world is fragmented into islands suspended in the sky, inhabited by humans possessing diverse, and sometimes underwhelming, superpowers. The beauty lies in discovering the hidden potential within seemingly insignificant abilities.

As the Island Manager, you'll engage in activities reminiscent of "Animal Crossing" and "Stardew Valley," cultivating crops, cloud fishing, and decorating your island paradise. The ability to travel to new locations and meet diverse characters adds an element of adventure.

Social interaction is a key component, with opportunities for shared adventures, island parties, and showing off your meticulously crafted home. However, multiplayer is entirely optional, allowing for a solo experience if preferred. Players will encounter a colorful cast of characters, each with their own unique personalities and superpowers.

While a precise release date for 2025 remains unconfirmed, pre-registration is available on the official website.
