Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator is shutting down late in March
Atelier Resleriana's servers are shutting down on March 28th, less than a year after its global launch. Koei Tecmo announced the end-of-service, citing an inability to maintain their intended quality standards despite ongoing efforts. In-app purchases have already ceased as of January 27th. Several in-game events are planned before the final shutdown, allowing players to utilize remaining Lodestar Gems.
This closure isn't entirely unexpected, given the highly competitive gacha market. While Atelier Resleriana showed promise, it faced challenges including criticism of its gacha rates and alchemy mechanics, which fell short of expectations for the Atelier series. Gameplay, though functional, lacked the engagement to compete effectively.
The developer's acknowledgement of these shortcomings suggests the game faced an uphill battle from its release. While player requests for an offline version are circulating online, its feasibility remains doubtful. Players are encouraged to enjoy the remaining time with the turn-based RPG.
