Atomfall Shows Off Gameplay Ahead of March Release

Atomfall: A New Gameplay Trailer Unveils Post-Apocalyptic England

Rebellion Developments, famed for the Sniper Elite series, ventures into new territory with Atomfall, a first-person survival game set in an alternate 1960s England devastated by nuclear war. A recently released seven-minute gameplay trailer offers a detailed look at the game's world and mechanics.

The trailer establishes a post-apocalyptic setting reminiscent of Fallout and STALKER, showcasing exploration of quarantine zones, dilapidated villages, and abandoned research bunkers. Survival hinges on resource scavenging amidst hazardous environments, encounters with hostile robots and cultists, and strategic combat.

Gameplay features a blend of melee and ranged combat. While the trailer highlights basic weaponry – a cricket bat, revolver, shotgun, and bolt-action rifle – it emphasizes weapon upgrades and the potential for discovering a wider arsenal. Crafting plays a key role, allowing players to create healing items and combat tools such as Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs. A metal detector aids in locating hidden supplies and crafting materials. Furthermore, a skill tree system allows players to enhance their abilities across four categories: melee, ranged combat, survival, and conditioning.

Initially revealed during Xbox's Summer Game Fest showcase, Atomfall generated considerable buzz, especially with its day-one inclusion in Xbox Game Pass. The game's March 27th release date (Xbox, PlayStation, and PC) is fast approaching, and Rebellion promises another in-depth video soon. Keep an eye on Rebellion's social media channels for further updates.
