Baldur’s Gate 3 Dev Larian Wants Your Help Testing Patch 8

Larian Studios announced a January launch for the Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 stress test via a Steam post. PC players can access the test through Steam, while console players (Xbox and PlayStation) will also participate. Mac and GOG users are excluded from this testing phase. Registration is currently open.

Larian plans extensive testing to identify and resolve any bugs or gameplay issues before the official release. They emphasized the importance of community involvement in this process, particularly for testing the newly implemented cross-play functionality. The developer highlighted the challenges of integrating cross-play into a game of Baldur's Gate 3's scale and encouraged players to register and participate, suggesting joining the Larian Studios Discord server to find groups.

While Patch 8 marks the final major update, Larian reaffirmed their commitment to ongoing support, particularly for the modding community. Significant future updates are planned, focusing on enhanced modding tools to empower players in creating and sharing their own narrative experiences. The impressive adoption of the official mod tools, released in September, with over 70 million downloads and 3,000 uploaded mods, showcases the community's enthusiasm.
