Bandai Namco to End PAC-MAN Mobile Service

Bandai Namco has made the surprising announcement of the shutdown of PAC-MAN Mobile, coinciding ironically with the legendary icon's 45th anniversary celebration this year. This version of the game, which was launched over a decade ago and previously known as PAC-MAN + Tournaments, has been a staple for fans of the classic arcade experience.

When Is the PAC-MAN Mobile Shutdown?

The official shutdown date for PAC-MAN Mobile is set for May 30th, 2025. In-app purchases were discontinued starting from April 1st. If you're among the dedicated players still enjoying the game, you can continue playing until the final day on May 30th.

The decision to completely shut down the game rather than transition it to an offline version has left many players disappointed. An offline version could have kept the game alive and potentially continued generating revenue for Bandai Namco.

PAC-MAN Mobile offered more than just the classic arcade experience. In addition to the iconic 8-bit arcade mode, the game featured a Story Mode with numerous original mazes, an Adventure Mode with limited-time themed events that allowed players to earn exclusive skins, and a Tournament Mode with weekly maze challenges across three difficulty levels. The game also boasted a variety of skins for PAC-MAN, the ghosts, the joystick, and more, enhancing the overall gaming experience.

The game has faced numerous challenges in recent years, primarily due to accumulating bugs and issues. These technical problems have likely contributed significantly to the decision to shut down the game.
