Battlegrounds Season 9: Hearthstone Update Unveils Major Revamps

Hearthstone's Battlegrounds mode is blasting off into Season 9 on December 3rd! Get ready for a cosmic overhaul with a completely revamped minion lineup and a brand-new meta. This season features a futuristic "Bob's Technotavern," a rating reset, and the elimination of Trinkets in favor of exciting new Battlegrounds Tokens.

New Token Mechanics:

These tokens allow you to re-roll a hero at the selection screen, providing a second chance if your initial choices aren't ideal.

Minion Reveal Schedule:

The new season's minion reveals are staggered: Naga and Dragon reveals today, Quilboar and Beast reveals on November 21st, Pirate and Duos-only reveals on November 22nd, Murloc and Demon reveals on November 25th, Elemental and Undead reveals on November 26th. Preview event streams and patch notes (31.2) drop December 2nd.

Other Key Changes:

Season 9 introduces three new heroes, including the attention-grabbing Farseer Nobundo. Nearly 90 minions and Tavern spells are either joining or leaving the pool. A significant change affects solo Battlegrounds: early-game damage is capped (5 on turn 1, increasing to 10 on turn 4 and 15 on turn 8), but this cap is removed once you reach the top 4.

Minion Release Schedule:

The full minion pool rollout is as follows: Beasts, Dragons, Quilboar, Pirates, Naga, and Mechs arrive on December 3rd. Murlocs and Demons join on December 5th, with Undead and Elementals arriving on December 9th.
