How To Beat Congalala in Monster Hunter Wilds
Facing the Congalala requires constant movement due to its large size and agility. To minimize damage from its potent breath attacks, avoid positioning yourself directly in front or behind it. The Congalala can unleash powerful smashes with its hands, whip its tail, and employ breath attacks from a distance.
Focus your attacks on its breakable parts for maximum impact. Targeting the forelegs is the most straightforward strategy, as they often leave the Congalala vulnerable for a few seconds after certain attacks. For the head, tail, and rear, wait for the beast to consume a mushroom—a visible action—and then strike when it expels gas from its front or rear. If you avoid these attacks, you can safely inflict damage on these sensitive areas.
If you get hit by the Congalala's fumes, use deodorant or roll through water to neutralize the effects. Capitalize on the wounds you create by using Focus Mode and Focus Strikes to deliver heavy damage, which can interrupt its attacks like breath assaults or ground smashes.
How To Capture Congalala in Monster Hunter Wilds
Capturing the Congalala can be challenging if its health isn't sufficiently reduced. Watch for the skull icon on the minimap next to the monster and listen for cues from your character or other hunters indicating that it's nearing its end. When the Congalala attempts to recover by sleeping, prepare your Shock or Pitfall Trap and set it near the beast. Then, switch to Tranq Bombs, wake the monster, lure it into the trap, and throw 2 to 3 Tranq Bombs to successfully capture it.
