Bethesda to Unveil Oblivion Remake Tomorrow

by Gabriella May 22,2025

After months of swirling rumors and tantalizing leaks, it appears that Bethesda is on the cusp of officially unveiling its much-anticipated remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The announcement is set to be made tomorrow at 11:00 am EST, as confirmed by a recent post on the official Bethesda Twitter/X account. The post, which teases the event across both YouTube and Twitch, features a striking "IV" prominently displayed against a backdrop that bears a striking resemblance to iconic Oblivion artwork, leaving little doubt about the subject of the announcement.

Speculation about an Oblivion remake has been rampant for what feels like an eternity, fueled initially by a leaked Bethesda release schedule from 2020, revealed during the FTC vs. Microsoft trial in 2023. That document hinted at an Oblivion remaster slated for fiscal year 2022. Although the timeline had passed, making it possible to dismiss the project as canceled, the rumors gained new life in January of this year with another leak. This time, the leak suggested a full-scale remake was underway, a collaborative effort between Bethesda and support studio Virtuos. The whispers reached a crescendo just last week when further leaks emerged from Virtuos' own website, showcasing images of the remake in development.

Should these recent leaks hold true, fans can look forward to The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered launching on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. Moreover, a Deluxe Edition is rumored to be available alongside the standard version, complete with the much-discussed horse armor.

Be sure to tune in tomorrow to catch the official confirmation and glean more details about this eagerly awaited remake.
