Bethesda to Unveil Oblivion Remaster Tomorrow

by Noah May 20,2025

After months of swirling rumors and tantalizing leaks, it seems Bethesda is poised to officially unveil the much-anticipated remaster of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion tomorrow. The excitement is palpable as the official Bethesda Twitter account has just announced a special event scheduled for tomorrow at 8am PT/11am ET, which will be streamed live on both YouTube and Twitch.

While the announcement didn't explicitly state what it would cover, the prominent "IV" and the background art, reminiscent of Oblivion, leave little room for doubt about the subject matter. The gaming community has been buzzing with speculation about an Oblivion remake for what feels like an eternity. Initial whispers turned into more concrete leaks starting in 2020, when a Bethesda release schedule surfaced during the FTC vs. Microsoft trial in 2023, hinting at an Oblivion remaster planned for fiscal year 2022. Although the timeline suggested by that document had already passed, making it seem like a potential cancellation, the rumors reignited earlier this year.

In January, a new leak suggested that Bethesda, with the assistance of support studio Virtuos, was working on a full-blown remake. The speculation reached a fever pitch just last week when leaks from Virtuos' own website emerged, showcasing the remake in action, seemingly confirming the project's existence.

If these recent leaks hold true, fans can expect The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered to be available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. Moreover, a Deluxe Edition is rumored to be in the works, which would include the iconic horse armor among other enhancements.

Be sure to tune in tomorrow to catch the official confirmation and more detailed insights into what Bethesda has in store for this beloved classic.
