Borderlands 4 Gets Own PlayStation State of Play
PlayStation has confirmed that Borderlands 4 will have its dedicated State of Play today. In a Twitter (X) post on April 29, PlayStation announced that the Borderlands 4 State of Play will happen on April 30 at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET / 10 PM BST / 11 PM CEST on their official YouTube and Twitch channels. You can check out the timetable below to find out what time the stream starts in your region:
During the live stream, Gearbox Software developers will share more information about the upcoming FPS sequel to the Borderlands series. According to a PlayStation.blog posted on April 29, the State of Play will go over 20 minutes of "developer-guided gameplay, including missions, killer weapons, exciting Action Skills, new and returning characters, and more."
Launch Date Moved to September 12
Following the State of Play announcement, Gearbox Entertainment CEO Randy Pitchford revealed in a Twitter (X) video on April 29 that Borderlands 4 will move up its launch date to September 12. He immediately deleted the video and made another post stating that he posted it too early and will repost momentarily.
Pitchford mentioned in his video that the development has been going great, and "everything’s going kinda the best scenario," hence, the game is moving up its launch date. Back in PlayStation’s February State of Play, Borderlands 4 unveiled its launch date trailer, where they announced that it would release on September 23. In a latest update, Borderlands 4’s official Twitter (X) confirmed that the game will indeed come out 2 weeks earlier.
The post reads, "After careful consideration–along with A LOT of meetings, playtestings, and incredible development work–we have made the monumental decision to MOVE UP THE LAUNCH DATE OF BORDERLANDS 4 to SEPTEMBER 12."
Gearbox Software promises to make this the greatest Borderlands game yet. With its release moving closer than first advertised, fans will get to crash and wreak havoc on the brand-new planet of Kairos earlier than expected.
Borderlands 4 is set to be released on September 12, 2025, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below!
