Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Developer Adds Feature to Enhance Challenge Tracking

Treyarch is developing a highly anticipated in-game challenge tracker for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. This feature, absent from the initial release despite its presence in 2023's Modern Warfare 3, is currently under development. While a release date remains unannounced, its arrival is expected soon, potentially coinciding with the Season 2 update later this month.

A recent January 9th update addressed various bug fixes in the game's UI and audio, and boosted XP rewards for the Red Light, Green Light multiplayer mode. Significantly, Treyarch reversed a controversial Zombies mode change from January 3rd, restoring the original round timing and zombie spawning mechanics after community feedback.

Challenge Tracking Feature Confirmed

Treyarch confirmed the challenge tracker's development via Twitter, responding to a fan request. The feature's popularity in Modern Warfare 3 fueled player disappointment at its omission from Black Ops 6. This addition will significantly benefit players pursuing Mastery camos, providing real-time challenge progress updates within the game's UI. This functionality is expected to mirror Modern Warfare 3's system, allowing players to select a challenge and view its progress without leaving the match.

Additional Improvements on the Horizon

Treyarch also confirmed the development of separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies modes, addressing another player request. This will eliminate the need to constantly adjust HUD settings when switching between game modes. Both the challenge tracker and the separate HUD settings are actively being developed, promising a more streamlined and user-friendly experience for Black Ops 6 players.
