Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update Reverses Controversial Zombies Change

Treyarch has addressed player concerns regarding recent changes to Black Ops 6's Zombies mode, specifically the Directed Mode spawn delay. Following negative feedback, the January 9th update reverted the controversial adjustment that extended the time between rounds and zombie spawns after five looped rounds. This change, implemented in the January 3rd update, had hampered kill farming and camo challenge completion.

The update also includes several improvements:

  • Citadelle des Morts Bug Fixes: Numerous glitches and bugs impacting quest progression and visual effects have been resolved. Issues related to the Void Sheath Augment for Aether Shroud have also been addressed.

  • Shadow Rift Ammo Mod Buffs: The Shadow Rift Ammo Mod received significant buffs, boosting activation rates for normal, special, and elite enemies (with the Big Game Augment). The cooldown timer has also been reduced by 25%.

  • Global Improvements: The update includes various stability fixes, addresses visual issues in the Events tab, and resolves an audio problem with event milestone banners.

  • Multiplayer Adjustments: XP rewards have been increased in the Red Light, Green Light mode.

Looking Ahead to Season 2:

More bug fixes and adjustments are planned for the upcoming Season 2 update on January 28th. This includes addressing remaining issues such as the Vermin double-attack bug. Players still have time to complete the Citadelle des Morts main quest before Season 1 Reloaded concludes.

Key Changes Summarized:

  • Directed Mode Spawn Delay: Reverted to previous settings.
  • Citadelle des Morts: Numerous bug fixes and visual improvements.
  • Shadow Rift Ammo Mod: Significant buffs to activation rates and cooldown.
  • General: Stability improvements and various UI/audio fixes.
