Capcom to Crack Down on Monster Hunter Wilds Cheaters Before Title Update 1
Monster Hunter Wilds is set to receive its first major Title Update tomorrow, bringing with it a fresh wave of content designed to spice up the hunting experience. Among the new features are Time-Based Competition Quests, which challenge players to complete hunts as quickly as possible and climb the leaderboards for exclusive rewards. However, Capcom has made it clear that fair play will be strictly enforced—cheaters need not apply.
In an official post from the Monster Hunter account on X (formerly Twitter), Capcom issued a firm warning regarding cheating and fraudulent activity in these competitive quests. The message was direct: "To ensure a fun and fair experience for our players, we will take action against accounts participating in fraudulent ranking activity, such as the use of cheating or external tools. Accounts found violating these rules may face suspension or restrictions, including being unable to receive rewards from these quests."
It’s not just cheaters who are at risk—Capcom also emphasized that any player participating in multiplayer hunts with individuals suspected of cheating could see their quest completion invalidated and lose eligibility for time-based rewards. This includes both Completion Time rankings and reward-eligible placements. To avoid this, Capcom advises hunters to be cautious about whom they team up with and to report any suspicious behavior immediately.
The stakes aren’t high in terms of gameplay progression, but the rewards do carry value—especially when it comes to cosmetic items like pendants, some of which are awarded universally and others based on performance metrics like speed and rank. Ensuring fairness helps maintain the integrity of the competition and keeps the experience enjoyable for everyone involved.
The Time-Based Competition Quests become available through the newly introduced Arena Quest Counter located in the Grand Hub in Suja. Before accessing them, players must complete a special tutorial mission to unlock the Grand Hub. Be sure to head there right after the update drops to dive into the new content seamlessly.
