In *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*, the choice to confront either Wakasa or Otama during the "The Tea Ceremony" mission significantly impacts the rest of your campaign. Both characters present compelling reasons to be suspicious, but there's a clear optimal choice that simplifies the quest considerably.

Following the tea ceremony, it's crucial to confront Wakasa. She is indeed the Golden Teppo of the Onryo, and correctly identifying her leads to the easiest resolution of the mission. Upon confronting Wakasa, she will invite Naoe to her home for a private discussion. As soon as you step inside, the presence of the kasa (straw hat) from the prologue, hanging on her wall, confirms your choice. After a tense exchange, you can swiftly end the mission by taking Wakasa's Teppo off the wall and shooting her at point-blank range.

What If You Confront Otama in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

If you mistakenly choose to confront Otama after the tea ceremony, you'll still eventually kill Wakasa, but the path to this outcome becomes much more challenging. Targeting Otama leads Naoe to chase her down and kill her, but a letter found on Otama reveals her own corruption. Meanwhile, Wakasa uses the time to fortify herself in Osaka Castle with her soldiers.

To reach Wakasa, you must travel to Osaka Castle, where you'll face a choice: either fight your way through her soldiers or attempt a stealthy approach. Even if you've unlocked the Osaka Tenshu fast travel point, you'll encounter standard enemies along the way. Sneaking up on Wakasa for an assassination won't suffice, forcing you into at least a one-on-one confrontation. While the boss fight isn't overly difficult, choosing to confront Wakasa directly results in a smoother, more cinematic kill, especially poignant given her role in Naoe’s father's death.

With the best decision for the Tea Ceremony mission now clear, you can focus on gaining XP and leveling up quickly in *Assassin’s Creed Shadows* to tackle the game's tougher challenges. Additionally, learning how to acquire more Knowledge Points will allow you to unlock further skills for Naoe and Yasuke.

*Assassin’s Creed Shadows* is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
