Dynasty Warriors: Origins: A Guide to Gem Crafting and Pyroxene Acquisition

Boost your character's power in Dynasty Warriors: Origins by utilizing Gems! These equippable items provide passive buffs, significantly aiding higher difficulty gameplay. This guide details gem crafting, upgrading, and maximizing your chances of obtaining specific gems.

Crafting and Leveling Up Gems

Gem crafting uses Pyroxene and is accessible at any Inn or tent. Navigate to your room and select "Create Gems" (the second option). You can use Pyroxene at a 1:1 ratio to craft gems. Five unique gems are craftable, with each Pyroxene having a chance to yield any of them.

Crafted gems begin at level 1 and can be equipped via the Battle Preparations menu. Crafting duplicate gems grants experience (XP) to the base gem, increasing its potency with each level. While using all Pyroxene at once for random gem upgrades is viable, there's a method for targeting specific gems.

The "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" effect randomly selects three gems, limiting crafting possibilities when using multiple Pyroxene. This effect is triggered randomly upon crafting a single gem. You can cancel it by exiting and re-entering the crafting menu. Crafting individually is time-consuming but increases your chances of activating "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" for your desired gem. Note that even with "Eyes of the Sacred Bird," some randomness remains.

Here's a list of craftable gems and their effects:

Gem Name Passive Boost
Oblivion Gem Expands attack range.
Vortex Gem Boosts damage to airborne enemies.
Scorch Gem Boosts damage against parried enemies.
Wellspring Gem Restores health per 100 enemies defeated.
Ascendance Gem Chance to automatically block officer attacks.

Acquiring Pyroxene

Pyroxene appears as orange crystals scattered throughout the overworld. Each crystal yields one Pyroxene upon interaction. Pyroxene respawns after completing skirmishes or battles, encouraging exploration of previously visited areas. Letters received in your Inn or tent room also occasionally contain Pyroxene.
