Crusader Kings 3 Devs Share Initial Insights on Nomad-Themed DLC

Paradox Interactive has revealed the first details of their upcoming Crusader Kings 3 expansion, focusing on the unique gameplay of nomadic rulers. This DLC introduces a revolutionary governance system tailored specifically for nomadic peoples, centered around a new currency: "herd." The size of a ruler's herd directly impacts their authority, influencing military might, cavalry unit composition, relationships with their subjects, and other crucial gameplay aspects.

The nomadic lifestyle necessitates constant movement, and this expansion accurately reflects that. A chieftain's relocation decisions will be shaped by strategic choices: negotiate peaceful settlements with existing populations or forcefully displace them to secure new grazing lands.

Adding to the immersive experience, nomadic rulers will command transportable yurts, similar to the adventurer camps already present in the game. These yurts can be upgraded with various components, unlocking significant benefits.

Furthermore, the expansion introduces iconic yurt towns, which nomadic kings will carry with them as they traverse the map. These mobile settlements, akin to adventurer camps, can be upgraded with additional structures, providing a range of functional improvements.
