Levelling Up: Every champion in DC: Dark Legion, no matter their rarity, can be leveled up to boost their base stats such as Attack, Defense, and Health. You can level up your chosen champions by taking them into battles where they'll earn experience. Alternatively, you can use EXP potions of various rarities to level them up directly. Levelling up not only enhances your champion's power level but also increases your overall account's Combat Power (CP).

Upgrading Star Count: In DC: Dark Legion™, each champion starts with a base star count that determines their rarity. For instance, legendary champions begin at 5-stars. You can boost this star count by using shards of the same champion, which means you'll need to get duplicate copies—a process that relies a bit on luck. Upgrading stars can be costly and might not be the best route for new, free-to-play players. However, it's a fantastic way to unlock new abilities and significantly improve your hero's stats.

Gearing Up: Besides levelling, you can enhance your heroes by equipping them with powerful gear. Initially, you can acquire gear by clearing out hideouts. Once you unlock crafting at your base, you'll be able to create your own gear. Gear comes in different rarities, each with main stats and additional sub-stats. Higher rarity gear will start with more sub-stats alongside the main stat, making your heroes even stronger.
