Digimon Story: Time Stranger Leak Surfaces Before PlayStation Showcase

by Harper May 03,2025

A new Digimon video game titled Digimon Story: Time Stranger has reportedly leaked through GameStop just ahead of tonight's PlayStation State of Play presentation.

Gematsu caught wind of the leak and shared listings for this mysterious project, including store links for pre-ordering on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. While the GameStop pages lack images or gameplay details, the timing suggests we might hear more about it soon.

The leak comes just hours before Sony’s latest State of Play event, which is set to feature 40 minutes of content. Although Sony hasn’t disclosed specifics about what will be showcased, the sudden appearance of Digimon Story: Time Stranger pre-order options hints at a possible reveal during the presentation.

The Digimon Story series has a rich history, dating back to the original Digimon Story on the Nintendo DS in the mid-2000s. Over the years, numerous installments have been released across various platforms, including Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth in 2015, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory in 2017, and a Complete Edition bundling both Cyber Sleuth titles in 2019.

In these games, players enter the Digimon universe, befriending and battling with digital monsters in an RPG setting. While franchise producer Kazumashu Habu hinted at a new Story game in 2022, fans have been eagerly awaiting a fresh installment. Titles like Digimon Survive have helped bridge the gap, but Digimon Story: Time Stranger could mark the long-awaited return of the series if it's officially announced soon.
