Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero May Launch on Nintendo Switch 2, Hints Saudi Ratings Board

by Blake May 12,2025

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero has been rated for the Nintendo Switch 2, hinting at its arrival on the new console even before an official announcement. While we await confirmation that this game, inspired by Akira Toriyama's beloved anime and manga series, will indeed grace the Switch 2, a now-deleted tweet from the Saudi General Authority of Media Regulation, as spotted by the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit, seems to have spilled the beans.

"Experience the fighting action in the latest game Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. Available on Nintendo Switch 2, featuring 3D battles and storylines that change based on your choices," the tweet stated before being removed. It also confirmed that the game had secured a 12+ rating.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero elevates the iconic gameplay of the Budokai Tenkaichi series to new heights, offering an "incredible number" of playable characters, each with their unique abilities, transformations, and techniques.

In our IGN Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero review, we awarded it a 7/10, stating, "Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is a final flash from the past, sometimes to a fault, but the feeling of traveling back to a simpler time when games didn’t have to be balanced or competitive to be fun is still a good one."

Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders became available on April 24, maintaining a price of $449.99. The demand was predictably high, as noted in and they went about as well as you'd expect. On the same day, Nintendo issued a warning to U.S. customers who applied for a Switch 2 pre-order from the My Nintendo Store, indicating that release date delivery could not be guaranteed due to overwhelming demand.
