Dungeonborne Officially Announces Shutdown Preparation
The developers behind the PvPvE action game Dungeonborne, drawing inspiration from the well-known Dark and Darker, have announced that they will cease support for the game, leading to the closure of its servers. Despite a promising start, the project, which ran for less than a year, struggled to maintain its player base due to insufficient player engagement and a lack of substantial updates.
While Dungeonborne's page remains available on Steam, it has been removed from the platform's search results and can only be accessed through a direct link. Although the official reasons for the shutdown remain undisclosed, it is evident that the game's extremely low player count was a significant factor. Since the latter part of 2024, the game's concurrent player count never exceeded 200, and in recent weeks, it plummeted to just 10-15 players.
The final shutdown of Dungeonborne's servers is scheduled for May 28, marking the end of the game's journey. Initially, Dungeonborne had captured the interest of genre enthusiasts, but it will now fade into obscurity without fulfilling its potential.
