Elden Ring: Nightreign Console-Exclusive Test Announced

FromSoftware's upcoming title will initially be tested exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Registration opens January 10th, with testing slated for February. This excludes a large segment of the fanbase from early access.

Bandai Namco hasn't publicly explained the omission of PC players from this initial testing phase. However, selected console players will enjoy a sneak peek before the official launch.

Elden Ring: Nightreign continues the narrative of its predecessor, offering a chilling new setting and gameplay experiences. While console gamers get early access, PC users will need to await further announcements regarding potential future testing opportunities.

A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game messaging system. Director Junya Ishizaki clarified this decision, stating that the approximately forty-minute play sessions don't allow sufficient time for message interaction. He stated, "We disabled the messaging feature because there isn't enough time for sending or reading messages during sessions, which last approximately forty minutes."
