On January 30, 2025, FromSoftware announced via Twitter/X that confirmation emails were being sent to applicants selected for the Elden Ring Nightreign network test. Excited fans have been sharing their acceptance notifications while expressing appreciation for being chosen to participate.

Confirmed participants will receive a second email on February 11 containing a unique download code for the Network Test client. The testing will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms.

FromSoftware describes this as a "pre-release technical test" where selected players will trial a portion of the game. The primary focus will be evaluating server stability and performance under heavy player loads through large-scale stress testing.

The network test window runs from February 14-16 with five scheduled play sessions:

  • Session 1: February 14 • 3-6 AM PT
  • Session 2: February 14 • 7-10 PM PT
  • Session 3: February 15 • 11 AM-2 PM PT
  • Session 4: February 16 • 3-6 AM PT
  • Session 5: February 16 • 7-10 PM PT

Fraudulent Schemes Targeting Eager Players

A concerning scam has emerged on Steam involving fake network test invitations. These malicious links redirect users to harmful sites that compromise accounts and propagate the scam through victims' friend lists. Players should note that official registrations only occurred through FromSoftware's website and official social channels.

Simultaneously, scalpers have begun selling unconfirmed test codes at exorbitant prices ($150-$200), with some even conducting auctions - despite the actual codes not being distributed until February 11.
