What to Expect from Vampire Hunters in Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2

The Chinese Room's recent update sheds light on Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2's intriguing vampire hunters: the Information Awareness Bureau (IAB). Operating off the books, this faction lacks official government backing, instead using "training exercises" and "counter-terrorism efforts" as cover for their true purpose – eliminating vampires, or "Hollow Ones."

Agent Baker, the IAB's Seattle leader, is a disciplined pragmatist committed to the permanent eradication of vampires. She meticulously investigates unusual events, poring over historical records to unravel the secrets of Seattle's hidden vampire society. Her unwavering command has earned her the moniker "The Hen" amongst her loyal team.

These hunters are highly organized, maintaining a secure base with both internal and external defenses. Facing them alone is a daunting task; they operate in coordinated teams, utilizing spotlights and portable radios for communication. Their arsenal includes thermic batons, bypassing enemy defenses, and phosphorous grenades to flush vampires from cover. Their sniper crossbows fire explosive bolts, inflicting significant damage unless swiftly removed.

However, the IAB hunters are not unbeatable. Physically weaker than both ghouls and vampires, they are vulnerable to specific strategies. For instance, fire-based abilities can intercept and redirect grenades or bolts. Furthermore, the Ventrue clan's powers allow players to possess enemies, turning them against their own teammates.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is slated for release in the first half of 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
