Expelled! challenges you to clear your name by catching the culprit or framing someone else

by Patrick Mar 15,2025

A girl's been pushed from a window at Miss Mulligatawney's School for Promising Girls, and you're the prime suspect. In Expelled!, the gripping new mystery from inkle (creators of Overboard!), you have one day to clear your name—or frame someone else.

Set in 1922, you play Verity Amersham, a scholarship student fighting to survive in an elite boarding school. Accused of attempted murder, your carefully constructed life implodes. Voiced by Amelia Tyler (Baldur's Gate 3), Verity's fight for survival begins.

This isn't your typical choose-your-own-adventure. Every action—where you go, who you speak to, what you say—shapes the narrative. Characters move and react in real-time, creating a dynamic environment. Alliances shift, betrayals unfold, and trust becomes a precious commodity. Can you identify true friends from cunning foes?

ytSolve the mystery legitimately, or employ deceit and manipulation. Forge alibis, shift blame, and exploit weaknesses. The more you bend the rules, the more avenues open up.

Each playthrough offers a unique experience (30-45 minutes), with branching paths, unexpected outcomes, and hidden secrets lurking within the school's walls. Uncover the mysteries of the locked cellar, your friend's hidden agenda, and the path to becoming Head Girl—if you survive expulsion.

With a jazz soundtrack featuring George Gershwin, Louis Armstrong, and Bessie Smith, Expelled! masterfully blends a tense mystery with a constantly evolving narrative. Your path to exoneration—and the lengths you'll go to achieve it—is entirely in your hands.

Expelled! launches March 12th on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and iOS.
