How to Extract Items in R.E.P.O.

by Nathan Mar 18,2025

In the cooperative horror game *R.E.P.O.*, your primary objective is simple yet terrifying: retrieve valuable items and survive the onslaught of randomly spawning monsters. Success means a hefty reward – cash to upgrade your survival gear – courtesy of the menacing AI Taxman. But escaping with your loot intact is far from guaranteed.

Successfully extracting your valuable items requires locating and reaching the Extraction Point, where your C.A.R.T. (Cargo And Retrieval Transport) of treasures is tallied. The Taxman then allows you to proceed to the Service Station, hopefully with enough cash to spend.

As you progress through *R.E.P.O.*, the extraction process becomes routine. What initially seems daunting quickly becomes second nature as you conquer more levels and monsters.

How to Extract in R.E.P.O.

Your first *R.E.P.O.* run features a single Extraction Point. However, as you advance, more points are added; currently, the maximum is four. The red number in the top-right corner of your screen displays the total number of Extraction Points and how many you've already completed.

Initially, the Extraction Point is conveniently located near your R.E.P.O. truck—a constant location. After your first drop-off, things get trickier. You'll need to navigate the level, unsure of the Taxman's demands or the next drop-off location. This is where the in-game map (accessed by pressing "Tab") becomes invaluable. It helps plan routes and facilitates coordination with teammates, allowing you to cover more ground simultaneously.

The next Extraction Point's location becomes apparent upon arrival—either visually or aurally. Once located, press the large red button. This reveals your fate and whether you've collected enough. If successful, place your C.A.R.T. within the grey area to avoid item destruction.

Repeat this process for each Extraction Point. After the final drop-off, you don't need to return the C.A.R.T. to the truck; a new one will spawn at the next location/level.
