Feral Interactive Releases Imperium Update for ROME: Total War
The iconic strategy game, ROME: Total War, has just received a significant boost on Android with the release of the Imperium Update by Feral Interactive. This update, now available to download, introduces a range of gameplay enhancements, control improvements, and quality-of-life features, elevating the experience for players who have been enjoying this classic since its Android debut in 2018. Fans of the standalone expansions, Barbarian Invasion and Alexander, can look forward to these updates rolling out next week as well.
What Does the Imperium Update Bring to ROME: Total War?
The Imperium Update enriches ROME: Total War with some of the standout features from Feral's newer mobile titles, such as Total War: MEDIEVAL II and EMPIRE. Players can now take advantage of three new control options: Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection. These modes enhance unit command and battle precision, allowing for more strategic gameplay. With the new tap-and-hold feature, you can effortlessly move your armies, agents, or fleets without the need to manually drag paths.
Positioning Mode offers fine-tuned unit placement by simply tapping and holding, while the Group Grid feature simplifies unit group management with a collapsible selection menu. Melee Mode enables ranged units to seamlessly switch to close combat when the situation demands it.
A significant addition is the Command Slowdown feature, which automatically slows the game pace when issuing complex orders, helping players manage their strategies more effectively. Additionally, for the first time, keyboard and mouse support has been integrated for Android and iPad users, providing a more familiar and precise control method.
The minimap has also seen a redesign, taking inspiration from MEDIEVAL II, and now offers smoother zooming and navigation. A new reset button allows players to quickly return to the default view, enhancing usability.
The Imperium Update is already live for ROME: Total War on Android, available for immediate download from the Google Play Store. Keep an eye out for the updates coming to Barbarian Invasion and Alexander next week to continue enjoying these enhancements across the entire ROME: Total War series.
