FIFA Is Teaming Up With Konami's eFootball For FIFAe World Cup 2024!

Konami and FIFA's unexpected esports collaboration is a surprising twist, especially given their long history of competition. The FIFAe Virtual World Cup 2024 will utilize Konami's eFootball platform.

In-Game Qualifiers Now Live on eFootball!

This year's tournament features Console (PS4 & PS5) and Mobile divisions. Eighteen countries are vying for the final spots: Brazil, Japan, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, England, France, Costa Rica, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Thailand, and Turkey.

The three-stage in-game qualifiers run from October 10th to 20th. National Nomination Phases for the 18 countries follow from October 28th to November 3rd.

The offline final round will conclude in late 2024; the exact date remains unannounced. Even if your country isn't competing, you can participate in qualifiers through Round 3, earning rewards including 50 eFootball coins, 30,000 XP, and more.

The FIFA x Konami eFootball Partnership: A Curious Turn of Events

The collaboration between these long-time rivals is certainly ironic. EA and FIFA ended their decade-long partnership in 2022, reportedly due to FIFA's demand for a significantly increased licensing fee ($1 billion every four years, compared to the previous $150 million). This led to the release of EA Sports FC 24 in 2023.

Now, FIFA has found a new partner in Konami's eFootball for the FIFAe World Cup 2024.
