Fortnite's Latest Update: A Blast from the Past and Festive Fun!

Fortnite's newest update delivers a nostalgic treat for players, bringing back beloved items like the Hunting Rifle and Launch Pad. This follows a recent hotfix for the OG mode, reintroducing the classic Cluster Clinger. The excitement continues with the return of Winterfest, complete with seasonal quests, new gadgets such as Icy Feet and the Blizzard Grenade, and a lineup of holiday skins featuring Mariah Carey and more.

December is proving to be a jam-packed month for Fortnite. Alongside the annual Winterfest event, which blankets the island in snow and offers event quests and items, Epic Games is also releasing a steady stream of new skins and collaborations. Winterfest rewards await players in the Cozy Cabin, including premium skins like Mariah Carey, Santa Dogg, and Santa Shaq. Beyond the holiday cheer, Fortnite continues to expand with collaborations featuring Cyberpunk 2077, Batman Ninja, and other exciting partnerships. The OG mode also receives some love.

A recent, smaller hotfix for Fortnite has generated significant buzz among veteran players. The surprise update to the popular OG mode marks the return of the Launch Pad, a classic item from Chapter 1, Season 1. Before the introduction of vehicles and other mobility options, Launch Pads were the go-to traversal tool, enabling players to quickly reposition themselves, gain a tactical advantage, or make a swift escape.

The Launch Pad isn't the only returning favorite. The hotfix also brings back the Chapter 3 Hunting Rifle, providing a long-range combat option, especially welcomed by players who miss the sniper rifles removed in Chapter 6, Season 1. Chapter 5's Cluster Clingers also make a comeback, available in both Battle Royale and Zero Build modes, mirroring the Hunting Rifle's availability.

The success of Fortnite OG is undeniable. Epic Games reported a staggering 1.1 million players joining the mode within the first two hours of its launch. Accompanying the mode's release was an OG Item Shop, offering classic skins and items for purchase. However, the return of ultra-rare skins, such as the Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper, has generated mixed reactions within the community.
