⚫︎ Bad Guitar Studio, the developer behind FragPunk, has officially announced that the game will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on April 29. The free-to-play 5v5 hero shooter originally released for PC via Steam on March 6. While console versions were initially scheduled for the same release date, they were postponed due to final optimization requirements. The upcoming console launch is set to support cross-platform play across all devices.

March 18

⚫︎ On March 18, FragPunk introduced a major balance update without any server downtime. Highlights of the patch include enhanced movement speed, improved footstep audio effects, and adjustments to weapon and Lancer ability mechanics. Additionally, the “Hide your name” feature was removed as part of strengthened anti-cheat protocols. Several gameplay and UI-related bugs were also addressed in this update.

⚫︎ Bad Guitar, the development team behind FragPunk, revealed that the console version’s release would be delayed due to “unexpected technical challenges during optimization and adaptation.” These issues surfaced during compliance testing for both Xbox and PlayStation platforms, prompting the team to push back the launch date to ensure a smooth and consistent experience for all players.

As a gesture of appreciation for the wait, console players will receive special rewards upon the game's release, including in-game currency, exclusive cosmetics, and XP boosts based on their level of engagement. More details will be shared as the launch approaches.
