Freedom Wars Remastered plunges you into a dystopian future where you, a Sinner, battle monstrous Abductors to protect humanity. To bolster your combat prowess, upgrading weapons and accessories is key. This involves boosting base stats and adding modules for various enhancements. You can begin upgrading early, reducing reliance on mission rewards. This guide covers weapon and accessory upgrades in Freedom Wars Remastered.

How To Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered

Weapon upgrades unlock after reaching Level 002 Code Clearance in the main story. This grants CODE 2 Sinners access to the Facility Management Function via the Personal Responsibility Portal. The Weapon Development Facility lets you manage your arsenal. Upgrading requires resources and Entitlement Points, but costs can be lowered by enlisting a Citizen with Facility Manager Aptitude. The process is simpler than it sounds.

Before upgrading, a screen shows stat changes. The facility also allows adding Elements, experimenting with Modules and Module Slots. To reach higher Grades, purchase permits from the Claim Entitlement tab in the Window of Liberty.

Should You Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered?

Early missions offer limited high-Grade weapons. While Zakka in The Warren sells some, they’re mostly Grade 1, making upgrading crucial. A CODE 3 Exam requires higher Grade Development Facility Permits. These let you upgrade a weapon of your choice, donating lower-Grade finds for reduced sentences and more Entitlement Points.

The first Weapon Development Facility upgrade unlocks the "In Search of the Strongest Weapon" trophy/achievement, with further achievements tied to the system. The damage difference between Grades is significant, incentivizing upgrades.

Finally, the Ability Development Facility (within Facility Management) unlocks later.
