Lizzy Caplan, in a recent interview with Business Insider, shed light on the scrapped Gambit movie starring Channing Tatum. She described the film's concept as "a really cool idea," a 1930s-style screwball romantic comedy set within the superhero universe. This aligns with producer Simon Kinberg's 2018 statement to IGN, describing the intended tone as a "romantic or sex comedy vibe," reflecting Gambit's character as a "hustler and a womanizer." Caplan confirmed her involvement, stating that she had signed on and even held meetings with Tatum before production was slated to begin. The project ultimately fell apart after the 2019 Disney-Fox merger, leaving Tatum reportedly "traumatized" by the experience. Despite this setback, Tatum made a surprise cameo as Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine, reigniting speculation about the character's future within the MCU.
