New Games, Hot Deals on SwitchArcade

by Patrick Jan 06,2025

Farewell, SwitchArcade Round-Up Readers! This is it, the final regular SwitchArcade Round-Up. While a special next week will feature a few delayed reviews, this marks the end of my tenure at TouchArcade. After several years, and many chunky round-ups, it's time for a new chapter. Let's take one last look at the week's highlights!

Reviews & Mini-Views

Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU ($49.99)

Imagineer's Fitness Boxing series continues its winning streak with the Hatsune Miku collaboration. This latest entry blends boxing-inspired workouts with rhythm game mechanics, featuring both standard routines and a dedicated Miku song mode. The game is Joy-Con exclusive, unfortunately.

Standard features like difficulty options, free training, warm-ups, and workout tracking are all present. Unlockable cosmetics add extra motivation. While the music is top-notch, the main instructor's voice is a bit jarring, a minor drawback in an otherwise enjoyable fitness experience. Best used to supplement other fitness routines rather than as your sole workout. -Mikhail Madnani

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5

Magical Delicacy ($24.99)

Magical Delicacy cleverly combines Metroidvania exploration with cooking and crafting. As witch Flora, you'll explore a charming world, cook meals for quirky characters, and craft magical items. The Metroidvania elements are surprisingly well-executed, but inventory management and the UI could use some refinement.

The game boasts beautiful pixel art, a delightful soundtrack, and customizable UI options. While the Switch version runs well, minor frame pacing issues are noticeable. A few quality-of-life improvements would elevate this already solid title. -Mikhail Madnani

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5

Aero The Acro-Bat 2 ($5.99)

This enhanced reissue of the SNES classic Aero The Acro-Bat 2 offers a polished platforming experience. Ratalaika Games has delivered a superior presentation, including extras like box and manual scans, achievements, and a sprite gallery. While the inclusion of only the SNES version is a slight misstep, the overall package is a solid offering for fans of retro platformers.

A worthy sequel and a testament to Ratalaika's improved emulation efforts. Fans of the original, and those seeking a well-executed 16-bit platformer, should definitely check it out.

SwitchArcade Score: 3.5/5

Metro Quester | Osaka ($19.99)

This prequel to Metro Quester takes players to Osaka, introducing a new dungeon, character types, and challenges. The turn-based combat and top-down exploration remain core mechanics, demanding careful planning and strategic party building. A satisfying expansion for fans and a great entry point for newcomers.

While more of an expansion than a full sequel, Metro Quester | Osaka successfully expands upon the original's formula. Patience is key, but the rewards are well worth the effort.
