God of War Ragnarok 20th Anniversary Update: Patch 06.02 Details Dark Odyssey Collection

Celebrate the 20th anniversary of the God of War franchise with the latest update for God of War Ragnarök, version 06.02, which introduces the exciting Dark Odyssey Collection. Santa Monica Studio has released comprehensive patch notes detailing all the new content included in this celebratory update, available now at no extra cost to all players.

The Dark Odyssey Collection brings a host of Norse-themed cosmetics to the game, including unique appearances for Kratos, Atreus, and Freya. Kratos can now don the Dark Odyssey Armor Set, complete with the Dark Odyssey Breastplate, Bracers, and Belt. Atreus and Freya also receive their own special outfits with the Dark Odyssey Vestment and Witch Frock, respectively. Additionally, the update revamps the appearance of all of Kratos' godly weaponry, offering new looks for the Leviathan Axe, Blades of Chaos, Draupnir Spear, and a variety of shields, each with their own Dark Odyssey-themed appearances and attachments.

A standout feature of this update is the new "Edit Appearance" option, allowing players to customize their favorite looks without compromising the abilities and skills of each armor set. This means you can tailor Kratos' appearance to your liking while maintaining the functionality of your chosen gear. Whether you're embarking on your first journey through the realms or revisiting the epic battles against Thor and Odin, this update enhances your experience on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.

While the Dark Odyssey Collection has been warmly received, some fans had hoped for more from the 20th-anniversary celebrations, such as modern remasters of the original God of War trilogy. Although no such plans have been announced, Santa Monica Studio continues to engage the community with additional bonuses, including new merchandise and vinyl releases, ensuring that the God of War legacy remains vibrant and engaging.
