Google-Friendly Content Update: Meta Halts Quest Pro VR Sales

by Elijah Feb 13,2025

The Meta Quest Pro is officially discontinued. Meta's website confirms its unavailability, following earlier announcements predicting stock depletion by early 2025. High pricing ($1499.99) hindered its adoption, unlike the more affordable Meta Quest line ($299.99-$499.99).

The suggested alternative is the Meta Quest 3, touted as the "ultimate mixed reality experience." While some remaining Quest Pro units might exist in retail stores, availability is dwindling.

Meta Quest 3: A Superior Successor?

The Meta Quest 3 offers comparable functionality at a significantly lower price ($499). It shares the focus on mixed reality, overlaying virtual displays onto the real world. Technically, the Quest 3 surpasses the Quest Pro in several aspects: it's lighter, boasts higher resolution and refresh rate, promising a more comfortable experience. Furthermore, the Quest Pro's Touch Pro controllers are compatible with the Quest 3. For budget-conscious users, the Meta Quest 2S, starting at $299.99, offers a more affordable option with slightly reduced specifications.
