"Guide to Acquiring Trap Tools in Monster Hunter Wilds"
While slaying monsters in *Monster Hunter Wilds* is thrilling, mastering the art of trapping them is essential for gathering all the necessary parts to forge armor. To achieve this, you'll need Trap Tools, and here’s how to obtain them.
Where to Get Trap Tools in Monster Hunter Wilds
Although *Monster Hunter Wilds* doesn't directly guide you on trapping monsters or acquiring Trap Tools, if you're familiar with earlier games in the series, the process should feel intuitive.
To get your hands on Trap Tools, head to the Provisions Stockpiler NPC at your Base Camp. Engage in conversation with him, and navigate through his inventory until you spot the Trap Tools, available at 200 Zenny each. It's wise to stock up, particularly if you're aiming to farm specific monsters or if you're on a mission to capture every creature the game has to offer.
Remember, the only way to acquire Trap Tools is through purchase at the Base Camp; they aren't scattered in the wild like other resources.
How to Use Trap Tools
With your Trap Tools in possession, it's time to harness their potential. Combine them with a Net (using Spiderweb or Ivy) to create a Pitfall Trap, or pair them with a Thunderbug Capacitor to construct a Shock Trap.
Both types of traps are effective, but be mindful that certain monsters have resistances. For example, Shock Traps won't affect Rey Dau, a lightning dragon, making Pitfall Traps the better choice in such cases.
Also, note that you can only carry one Trap item at a time. Therefore, deploy them strategically when the monster is weakened for the best results.
