Supergiant Games has unleashed The Olympic Update, its first major content drop for Hades 2. The developers plan to closely monitor player feedback to refine the update's impact. This substantial update introduces a new region, weapon, characters, animal familiars, and much more.

Key additions in this expansive update include:

⚫︎ New Region: Mount Olympus: Confront the challenges of Olympus and strive to protect it. ⚫︎ New Weapon: Xinth, the Black Coat: Master the power of this otherworldly Nocturnal Arm. ⚫︎ New Characters: Forge alliances with two new allies within their home region. ⚫︎ New Familiars: Discover and bond with two new animal companions. ⚫︎ Crossroads Enhancements: Unlock numerous cosmetic items to personalize the Crossroads. ⚫︎ Expanded Narrative: Uncover hours of new dialogue as the story deepens within the new region. ⚫︎ World Map Overhaul: Experience a redesigned world map for navigating between regions. ⚫︎ Mac Support: Native support for Macs with Apple M1 chips or later.

Currently in early access, Hades 2 builds upon the success of its predecessor. The full game and console releases are anticipated for next year. The Olympic Update significantly expands the gameplay experience, adding substantial content and new narrative threads. The inclusion of Olympus, the mythical home of the Greek gods, promises an exciting new chapter in the game's story.

Significant improvements have been made to Melinoe's abilities and the Nocturnal Arms, including enhanced Specials for the Witch's Staff, Sister Blades, Umbral Flames, and Moonstone Axe. Her Dash has also been refined for increased speed and responsiveness. However, these enhancements are matched by increased enemy difficulty.

The Olympic Update introduces new enemies, including Wardens and a Guardian, specifically designed for the new region. Existing Surface enemies have also received adjustments:

⚫︎ Chronos: Reduced downtime between phases; minor adjustments. ⚫︎ Eris: Various adjustments; no longer susceptible to standing in flames. ⚫︎ Infernal Beast: Faster resurfacing after the first phase; minor adjustments. ⚫︎ Polyphemus: No longer summons elite foes; minor adjustments. ⚫︎ Charybdis: Fewer phases; more intense attacks and reduced downtime. ⚫︎ Headmistress Hecate: Loses invulnerability sooner after her Sisters of the Dead are defeated. ⚫︎ Ranged Enemies: Reduced simultaneous attacks. ⚫︎ Various other minor enemy and combat adjustments.
