Hangry Morpeko Is Coming To Pokémon GO This Halloween!

Get ready for spooky fun in Pokémon GO! Niantic has revealed the details for Part 1 of the Halloween event (with a Part 2 on the way!). Prepare for exciting features and some seriously spooky Pokémon encounters.

The event runs from Tuesday, October 22nd, at 10:00 a.m. local time, until Monday, October 28th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

What's in Store?

Morpeko, the Electric/Dark-type Pokémon, makes its highly anticipated debut! This little guy brings unique battle mechanics, especially handy against Team GO Rocket or in GO Battle League. Morpeko switches between Full Belly Mode and Hangry Mode mid-battle, depending on its Charged Attack. In Full Belly Mode, it uses Aura Wheel (Electric), a powerful 100-power move boosting Attack. In Hangry Mode, Aura Wheel becomes Dark-type, retaining its 100 power and Attack boost.

During the event, you'll have increased chances of encountering Morpeko in the GO Battle League's premium track. After the event, it will still be available from Rank 16 onwards, though more frequent on the premium track.

Pokémon GO is decked out in spooky holiday decorations. Fans of the eerie Lavender Town theme will be thrilled by a remix of the classic music playing nightly throughout the event. Check out this Lavender Town remix!

Another highlight: Dynamax Gastly appears in one-star Max Battles, alongside Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble.

A free Timed Research event runs from October 22nd to November 3rd, focusing on Spiritomb and its 108 spirits. Completing tasks rewards encounters with Halloween-themed Pokémon, including Spiritomb and Morpeko.
