How to Use Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia
In the world of *Phasmophobia*, tackling the most notorious ghosts often requires using special Cursed Possessions, which come with their own risks and rewards. The Haunted Mirror stands out as a particularly useful tool, and if you're hesitant to use it, understanding its mechanics can help you make the most of your ghost-hunting adventures.
How to Use the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia
The Haunted Mirror is considered one of the safest Cursed Objects in *Phasmophobia*, offering significant benefits with minimal risk. Its functionality has remained consistent through the game's updates, making it a highly recommended item to use when you encounter it during your investigations.
The Haunted Mirror provides a panoramic view of the ghost's current favorite room or area on the map, allowing you to quickly locate the ghost and set up your equipment before the situation escalates. If you're familiar with the map's layout, this tool can be a game-changer.
You'll typically find the Haunted Mirror hanging on a wall, such as at 6 Tanglewood Drive, or lying on the floor in its designated spot. While Cursed Objects always spawn in the same location on a map, the chance of a specific one appearing is randomized.
To use the Haunted Mirror, simply pick it up and use the appropriate button (mouse or controller) to interact with it and hold it up. The reflection will show you the ghost's current favorite room. Keep in mind that on Professional difficulty or higher, the ghost can move to a different area after a while.
However, be cautious not to gaze into the Haunted Mirror for too long, as it drains your sanity. If you hold it up for the entire duration, the mirror will shatter, triggering a Cursed Hunt at your location. Use it when your sanity is high and quickly understand the reflection to avoid this risk.

Cursed Possessions, often referred to as "Cursed Objects," are unique items in *Phasmophobia* that spawn randomly across the game's maps. Their availability can depend on difficulty settings or if you're playing in Challenge Mode.
Unlike regular equipment, which helps locate the ghost and gather evidence with minimal risk, Cursed Objects act as shortcuts to manipulate the ghost, but at a much higher risk to your character. Some are safer to use than others, and it's up to you and your team to decide whether to engage with them. There's no penalty for choosing not to use them, and only one Cursed Possession will spawn per contract, unless modified in Custom settings.
The game features a total of seven different Cursed Objects:
- Summoning Circle
- Haunted Mirror
- Voodoo Doll
- Music Box
- Tarot Cards
- Ouija Board
- Monkey Paw
