Heroes of the Storm: Brawl Mode Returns!

Heroes of the Storm is bringing back the beloved Heroes Brawl game mode, rebranded as "Brawl Mode," introducing a bi-weekly rotation of unique map challenges and rewarding players with a special chest. The mode, absent for nearly five years, is currently available for testing on the Public Test Realm (PTR) and will officially launch with the next patch, approximately one month from now.

The original Heroes Brawl, initially launched as Arena Mode in 2016, offered weekly rotating challenges featuring modified maps, objectives, and rulesets. Examples included all-Nova sniper duels and PvE missions. Its discontinuation in 2020 stemmed from the rising popularity of single-lane maps and the maintenance challenges it presented.

Brawl Mode, however, offers a streamlined approach. The bi-weekly rotation (1st and 15th of each month) ensures consistent fresh content, while maintaining a manageable update schedule. Players earn a special chest after completing three Brawl matches during its active period. The exact reward structure (single reward per Brawl or multiple per week) remains to be seen.

The PTR currently features the holiday-themed "Snow Brawl." Given the PTR's three-week duration, Brawl Mode's official launch is anticipated for early February 2025, coinciding perfectly with the 10th anniversary of Heroes of the Storm.

This revival is a significant win for the game's community, and many hope it signals a broader resurgence of the MOBA.
