The Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Hogwarts Legacy delivers enhanced graphics, quicker load times, and introduces innovative mouse support.

As shown in a new comparison trailer, players no longer encounter loading screens when traveling between areas like Hogsmeade – transitions are now instantaneous on Switch 2.

The upgrades don't stop there. The Switch 2 version dramatically improves frame rates, texture detail, shadow quality, and color vibrancy throughout Hogwarts and its surroundings. See the improvements firsthand in the trailer below:

The mouse control feature remains intriguingly mysterious. While Warner Bros. hasn't revealed specifics, we speculate it might revolutionize spell-casting mechanics.

Following Nintendo's cross-generation upgrade policy, existing Switch owners can enhance to the definitive Switch 2 version for just $10.

Hogwarts Legacy presents an expansive open-world RPG adventure set in the magical 1800s. Players begin as fifth-year students, exploring iconic locations, encountering magical creatures, brewing potions, mastering spells, and shaping their ideal witch or wizard. The Switch 2 version launches alongside the console on June 5.

In our IGN Hogwarts Legacy review, we awarded it a stellar 9/10, praising it as "the Harry Potter RPG we've always dreamed of playing."
