A recent leak suggests Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 will include a free 4-star character selector, potentially as part of a limited-time event. This selector would allow players to choose one of four units: Qingque, Pela, Serval, or Asta.

This news comes as Honkai: Star Rail's 3.0 update approaches, introducing new gameplay features and characters. While the game boasts 23 existing 4-star characters, many are overshadowed in the meta, requiring significant Eidolon investment to become truly effective. Past updates offered similar free selectors, aiding players in bolstering their 4-star rosters.

The leak, originating from the reputable leaker HomDGCat, specifies the four selectable characters: Qingque (Quantum, Erudition), Pela (Ice, Nihility), Serval (Lightning, Erudition), and Asta (Fire, Harmony). Interestingly, all are from the game's initial 1.0 cycle, with Asta even being an early-game acquisition. This aligns with recent speculation that future updates may focus primarily on 5-star character releases, as evidenced by the nearly 40 existing 5-star units compared to the 23 4-star units. Eight more 5-stars are anticipated with the Amphoreus update, with a possible addition of two more through an upcoming Honkai: Star Rail and Fate/Stay Night crossover.
