Honkai: Star Rail Herta Team Guide

The Herta isn't entirely new to Honkai: Star Rail players. Many anticipated her arrival, especially given the prevalence of Herta puppets in team compositions since launch. Unlike characters like Fugue or Imbibitor Lunae, The Herta retains her 4-star counterpart's path and element, but her gameplay differs significantly. Her kit centers around "Interpretation" stacks, gained when allies attack enemies, dramatically boosting her damage. To maximize her potential, prioritize teams with allies frequently using AoE attacks, including follow-up attacks, for efficient stack generation.

Her bonus ability, "Message From Beyond the Veil," grants allies 80% increased Crit DMG if another Erudition character is present. This makes her ideal for duo DPS compositions. Below are optimal team pairings to showcase her unique playstyle.

The Herta + Jade + Robin + Lingsha

Best Premium Team Composition

This team—Jade, Robin, Lingsha, and The Herta—is exceptionally strong. Jade, an ideal Erudition partner, frequently triggers AoE attacks, synergizing perfectly with The Herta's stacking mechanic. Her follow-up attacks are especially effective when The Herta is targeted as Debt Collector. Lingsha provides crucial sustain, maintaining high ally HP, vital since The Herta's HP is periodically drained. Lingsha also offers AoE follow-up attacks. Aventurine is a strong alternative, but his bouncing attacks may be less consistent than Lingsha's. Huo Huo or Fu Xuan offer valuable support, though their focus is more on buffs than frequent attacks. Robin's buffs to follow-up attacks and general DMG boosts are invaluable, especially in challenging content. Sunday or Ruan Mei are excellent substitutes if Robin isn't available.

Best F2P Team Composition

This F2P team uses both Herta versions effectively. While Herta's follow-up attack depends on enemies' HP being below 50%, the two still generate Interpretation stacks well. Serval is a viable 4-star replacement. Remembrance Trailblazer excels, especially in Ice DPS content, but even without Ice focus, she performs well. Her summon, Mem, deals True DMG and buffs Crit DMG. Pela is a strong substitute, debuffing enemies and performing AoE attacks. Tingyun provides ATK and Energy buffs, but lacks AoE capabilities, making her less synergistic.

Gallagher's SP-positive playstyle and AoE Ultimate provide consistent value. This last slot depends on your available healers or sustain options.
