Hot to Get Tier II/Fine Weapons and Armor in Avowed

by Gabriella Mar 05,2025

In Avowed, upgrading your weaponry is crucial for survival. Early game encounters feature primarily Common (Level I) weapons and enemies. However, as the difficulty increases to Level II, you'll require Fine (Tier II) equipment. This guide details how to obtain and upgrade to Tier II/Fine weapons and armor.

Upgrading Weapons and Armor from Common (I) to Fine (II)

While some Fine Quality weapons and armor can be found or purchased directly, others require upgrading. Avowed uses a dual-tier system to track gear effectiveness: Quality (indicated by descriptor, color, and Roman numeral) and Enhancement Level (+1 to +3). Common (I) gear is green, while Fine (II) gear is blue.

To upgrade from Common (I) to Fine (II):

  1. Locate a Party Camp workbench.
  2. Upgrade your gear through the +1, +2, and +3 enhancement levels, each requiring specific materials.
  3. Once +3 is achieved, use Adra (a rare crystal obtained from quests, merchants, or dismantling unique items) to upgrade to Fine (II).

Finding and Purchasing Fine (II) Weapons and Armor

While upgrading is effective, it's resource-intensive. Alternatively, Fine (II) gear can be:

  • Found as loot: Occasionally spawns from Level II enemies in Dawnshore, particularly Bounties. Note that Common gear is significantly less effective against Level II foes.
  • Purchased: Available from merchants in Paradis, accessible after defeating the Dreamscourge bear boss in Dawnshore. Two sisters operate adjacent stalls: one (Merlylin) sells magical items, and the other offers standard weapons and armor (pictured above).

By utilizing these methods, you can ensure your character is adequately equipped to face the challenges of Avowed.
