New Images and Details Revealed for Lion King Ride at Disneyland Paris

Exciting new developments have emerged for the much-anticipated Lion King-themed ride at Disneyland Paris, with fresh images, detailed plans, and a construction start window set for Fall 2025. As reported by Disney Parks Blog, this groundbreaking attraction will be a centerpiece of the newly reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be known as Disney Adventure World. This new water ride promises to immerse guests in the iconic moments of the 1994 classic, The Lion King. The themed land will also boast a towering 120-foot-high Pride Rock, along with a variety of dining options, shopping experiences, character meet-and-greets, and more.

Disney has unveiled a stunning concept image of the ride, showcasing Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal in a lush jungle environment. This scene is just a snippet of what guests can expect, as the ride will feature a thrilling 52-foot drop, surpassing Tiana's Bayou Adventure by two inches. While an exact opening date has yet to be announced, the ride is slated to debut following the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026. This attraction is a key component of the expansive Disney Adventure World, which will significantly increase the park's current footprint.

In addition to the Lion King ride and World of Frozen, Disney Adventure World will introduce the previously announced Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, featuring the return of Mandy Moore voicing Rapunzel. Another first-of-its-kind attraction themed after Up will offer guests a unique "spinning carousel" experience with breathtaking views of the park's scenery.

Opening on May 15, 2025, World Premiere will serve as the glamorous new entrance to Disney Adventure World, designed to evoke the excitement of a Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to it, World Premiere Plaza will draw inspiration from Broadway and London's West End, featuring theaters hosting shows like TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
