Indus Surpasses 5 Million Downloads in Milestone Global Playtest

by Alexis Aug 23,2023

Indus Battle Royale, the Indian-made battle royale shooter, has achieved over five million Android downloads and surpassed 100,000 iOS downloads within just two months of its release. This success follows a Google Play Best Made in India Game 2024 award and a successful international playtest in Manila.

Developer SuperGaming's ambition extends beyond this impressive milestone. They aim to establish Indus as a leading Indian gaming title, surpassing competitors like FAU-G: Domination. The Manila playtest at the YGG Play Summit provided valuable feedback from international esports players.

Further solidifying their esports ambitions, SuperGaming launched the Clutch India Movement, culminating in the Indus International Tournament. Running from October 2024 to February 2025, this tournament boasts a substantial INR 2.5 crore (approximately $31,000 USD) prize pool.

yt Significant Achievement, Future Growth Potential

While the five million downloads represent a significant achievement, it falls slightly short of the initial ten million pre-registrations. However, it's important to note that pre-registrations rarely translate directly into downloads. The comparatively lower iOS download numbers also indicate a need for further market penetration in that segment.

Despite this, SuperGaming's proactive approach, evidenced by rapid international expansion, an esports tournament, and ongoing development, showcases their ambitious vision for Indus's growth. For players eager to compete, numerous excellent multiplayer games are available on both Android and iOS platforms.
