The highly anticipated open-world fashion game, Infinity Nikki, is launching December 4th (EST/PST). A new 25-minute documentary offers a fascinating glimpse into the years of development and passion poured into bringing this game to life. Interviews with key team members reveal the challenges and triumphs of creating this ambitious title.

Building Miraland: A World of Fashion and Adventure

The project began in December 2019, with a vision to create an open-world experience for the popular Nikki series. The team, initially working in secret, faced the unique challenge of integrating the established dress-up game mechanics with a completely new open-world setting. Game designer Sha Dingyu describes the process as building a framework from scratch, a testament to years of research and innovation. The producer's dedication is evident in a clay model of the Grand Millewish Tree, a physical representation of the vision for Miraland.

The documentary showcases the vibrant world of Miraland, highlighting the Grand Millewish Tree and its inhabitants, the Faewish Sprites. Game designer Xiao Li emphasizes the detail in NPC routines, creating a dynamic and believable world even when the player is actively engaged in quests.

Infinity Nikki's stunning visuals are a result of a truly exceptional team. Beyond the core Nikki series developers, the team includes industry veterans such as Lead Sub Director Kentaro "Tomiken" Tominaga (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild) and concept artist Andrzej Dybowski (The Witcher 3). Their combined expertise has resulted in a polished and visually breathtaking game.
