Jack Black's Minecraft Movie: Lego Sets Reveal Featured Mobs

Lego has unveiled a new series of sets inspired by the upcoming live-action film, "A Minecraft Movie," starring Jack Black as Steve. These sets provide a sneak peek into the mobs and scenes fans can anticipate seeing in the movie. As reported by Games Radar, two sets have been announced so far: the Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring and The Ghast Balloon Village Attack. These additions will complement the existing array of Minecraft-themed Lego sets and will include minifigures of key characters, such as Black's Steve and Jason Momoa's The Garbage Man.

The Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring set, priced at $49.99 and comprising 491 pieces, hints at a gladiatorial combat scene in the film. It features Momoa's character, The Garbage Man, engaged in battle with a zombie mounted on a giant chicken. While the scale of the chicken is ambiguous—it might represent a baby zombie on a standard-sized chicken or an oversized chicken—the entire setup stands about twice as tall as The Garbage Man. This set also includes Steve, his friend Henry, a towering zombie pigman, a fighting ring, a gold-filled chest, and a small viewing stand adorned with weapons.

The Ghast Balloon Village Attack set, priced at $69.99 and containing 555 pieces, introduces the Nether's iconic ghast into the movie's narrative. This set suggests a significant battle sequence within an overworld village. Alongside the ghast, the set includes a village minifigure, two piglins, Steve, Natalie, Dawn, and an iron golem, depicting a vivid clash between these characters.

Both sets will be available starting March 1, a month before "A Minecraft Movie" premieres in theaters on April 4. The film, which was officially revealed in September, immediately sparked criticism from fans due to the contrast between the live-action characters and the animated world created via green screen technology. In response, one fan even recreated the trailer in a fully animated format. When speaking to IGN in November, the director and producer acknowledged these concerns but confidently stated they were "ready for everything."
