Jack Quaid Eyes Bioshock Role Amid Max Payne Comparisons in Novocaine

Jack Quaid, known for his role in "The Boys," has expressed his enthusiasm for starring in a BioShock movie, citing the iconic first-person shooter as one of his all-time favorite games. During a Reddit AMA, which coincided with the release of his new film, Novocaine, Quaid highlighted the game's "rich lore" as a compelling reason for a potential TV or movie adaptation.

"I would actually love to be in a live-action adaptation of BioShock - one of my favorite games of all time," Quaid stated. "I think there's such a rich lore to that game that could be explored in a TV or movie adaptation."

The feasibility of a BioShock film, however, remains uncertain. Last July, producer Roy Lee mentioned that the project had undergone a "reconfiguration" due to leadership changes, aiming for a "more personal" approach to the film. This shift was influenced by budget constraints imposed by Netflix, though specific details about the plot remain under wraps. Francis Lawrence, known for directing the Hunger Games series, is still set to helm the project.

"The new regime has lowered the budgets," Lee explained. "So we’re doing a much smaller version. It’s going to be a more personal point of view, as opposed to a grander, big project."

In the same Reddit session, Quaid acknowledged his striking resemblance to the video game character Max Payne, whose likeness is modeled after Remedy's Sam Lake. This resemblance has fueled speculation among fans, particularly with scenes from Quaid's new action movie, Novocaine, drawing comparisons to a Max Payne film.

"I've seen people say that I look like Max Payne, and when I've looked at the box art, even I did a double-take," Quaid noted. "I love Rockstar's games, but unfortunately I've never played that one - it's next on the list, for sure."

Beyond BioShock, Quaid has a deep appreciation for FromSoftware's challenging games. He shared his recent experiences with titles like Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring, underscoring his passion for gaming.

"I'm a huge video game nerd," he confessed. "And lately I've been diving headfirst into the FromSoftware library. I beat Bloodborne, then I beat Sekiro, and now I'm going full boar into Elden Ring. Actually, the thing I use Reddit the most for is tips and tricks on beating Fromsoft's bosses. I love how challenging the games are - it took me a while to get into them, but now I'm obsessed."
