Japan Expansion for Ticket to Ride: Build the Bullet Train Network!
Embark on a virtual journey across Japan with the latest expansion for Ticket to Ride, brought to you by Marmalade Game Studio and Asmodee Entertainment. The Japan Expansion introduces the iconic Japan map to the digital version of this beloved board game, but with a twist that sets it apart from its physical counterpart.
Help Build the Train Network
For the first time, the Japan map from the physical game is now available on digital platforms. Unlike the traditional game where you focus solely on expanding your own train empire, the Japan Expansion invites you to contribute to a national Bullet Train network, benefiting all players. This cooperative element adds a new layer of strategy to the game.
While you can attempt to be strategic and let others do the heavy lifting, be warned: the game includes a karma system. Neglecting your Bullet Train responsibilities will cost you a hefty 20 points when the final scores are tallied. So, even if you're plotting to outsmart your friends, a bit of cooperation is necessary.
The Japan Expansion also introduces two new characters to enrich the gameplay experience. Nakanishi Kimiko, a travel blogger, immerses herself in Japan's vibrant festival culture alongside her canine companion. Meanwhile, Moriyama Isamu, a gyōji or sumo referee, brings a touch of Japan's historical and cultural essence to the game, adding depth beyond just maps and trains.
Ticket to Ride Has Upgraded Trains with the Japan Expansion
Enhance your collection with the Japan Expansion, which includes two new trains and two carriages. The Ichi Eki Saki train and the Tsuki Sleeper carriage cater to those seeking a more leisurely travel experience. On the other hand, the Isogaba Maware train and the Hayai carriage offer speed and efficiency for the more time-conscious player.
As spring arrives, the Japan map's seasonal aesthetics are sure to enhance your gaming experience. The Japan Expansion is available for download now, perfect for those looking to refresh their Ticket to Ride sessions. You can find it on the Google Play Store.
